It is abundantly clear this time of year that you have MANY options when it comes to buying toys. I know that. Those catalogs come to my house too. You should see my face when my kids get out a marker and start in with the traditional circling of items... Let's just say, they get the stink eye and leave it at that.
I know there are GREAT deals out there. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, shopping ON Thanksgiving for Pete's sake... We do deals too. I LOVE a good deal. But here's the thing, even on the average day, shopping at Toodleydoo Toys is a GREAT DEAL. Sale or not. What I hope that "commercial" shows you is that we are so much more than JUST a toy store. If you already drink the shop local kool-aid, then maybe you can just quit reading now, but if you still think that the best deals come from a "big box", then let's review EXACTLY what you get when you shop locally, with us in particular.
Let's wrap this up, shall we? I know you get it, but to really embrace this whole relationship shopping lifestyle, it will require a lot of conscious effort on your part almost every day. You have to choose a relationship with us over convenience and "deal" seeking. Convenience and a budget are important to busy families, but you won't get the same warm and fuzzy satisfaction smelling candles at Target as you will talking to the candle maker at a local business. Walking into a coffeehouse where they KNOW you and all your culinary quirks is AWESOME and not easily replicated at a chain establishment. I don't care what color their cups are. Cramming your hastily selected birthday gift (based on nothing other than the theme of the party invitation) down into a reused gift bag you pulled out of your closet, will not bring you (or the recipient) nearly as much joy. It won't. We promise. Take it from us. We are, after all, gift experts and our goal is to serve YOU! #morethanjustatoystore
Funny story... One time, my daughter came home from school and told me that a school acquaintance said, "Wow! Your mom owns a toy store? You must be rich!!" To which I replied with stifled laughter, "Well, we ARE rich, but not the way your friend believes."
